This will be the shortest diary of mine ever. I'm a precinct organizer for Barack Obama...and I've really go to go.
It's 3PM here on the West Coast and there's five hours of hard work ahead. I was out at 5:30 AM in West Oakland hanging door hangers...Our Moment is Now is the election day slogan of the Obama campaign...and I'll be back working the streets and talking one-on-one with voters in a few short minutes...
The first thing I want to say is that there is still time to get and be involved. Even in NYC!
Jon Carson of the national Obama campaign hit us Californians with a state-wide conference call last night and emphasized that the work you do in the last hour might only gain 3 or 4 votes, but take that times 20,000 and that will make a huge difference.
It's true.
And you can be a part of it by taking a couple simple steps:

Now, if you are in Los Angeles County tonight, dday has an important diary for you. And it goes without saying that anywhere in California every polling place table should have a sheet spelling out the rights of DTS voters to cast a ballot in the Democratic primary if they so choose.
But, I'd like to send a simple message to everyone here tonight before any exit polls have tipped which way this contest will tilt. Whatever your preferred candidate it is always better that more people vote and that their votes are counted accurately and according to their true preference.
The turnout here in CA is awesome. I've never had more people tell me they voted in a primary.
Voting is a value we stand for...calmly and resolutely...as Democrats. Whatever the results, more people voting is something we all can celebrate as Democrats.
Vote hope.
