This diary is somewhat in response to the discussions about Hillary's intentions to steal the nomination, woo the superdelegates, etc. Folks, I don't think for one minute that it's about the math. Her whole goal is to weaken Obama so that she sweeps the last several primaries -- then her claim to the nomination would be very strong, in that she would have the momentum and he wouldn't. If they split the last few races 50-50, she has no claim. All the other stuff -- spinning different categories of delegates, demanding that her slates from Florida and Michigan be counted, the "big state argument" -- it's all so much hooey, and she knows it. The goal is to show that she has Big Mo going into the summer.
In that sense, her campaign's continuing on is reasonable.
She's hoping the wind blows her way, and if it does, she knows the delegates will follow. My bet is that she wins Pennsylvania but not much else.
I submit this in the (faint) hope that we can consider her campaign's overall strategy as something other than nefarious, illegitimate, etc, even if we support Barack. And even as we object to the worst of the tactics, which are truly inexcusable.
