The Iraq war ended in May of 2003 when the decider himself landed on that aircraft carrier and said so. Perhaps if we re-set the terms of the argument we can bring our troops home.
The Iraq war ended with the fall of Saddam Hussein and our capture of those mean old weapons of mass destruction (as my grandson points out, zero is still a number). Since then we have been OCCUPIERS. We WON the war, we snatched victory from the jaws of...well something that only Democrats want, and we should make that our message. That will put our republican friends at ease and eager to join the VICTORIOUS Democrats and end the OCCUPATION and bring our troops home. You see, occupation is different from war, it's spelled differently and has more syllables (which should help our fearless leader see the difference).
It seems that we D's are always a step behind the r's in defining the message. Pro-choice becomes pro-abortion or anti-life. Victory becomes, well we all know what victory looks like except all our battleships are in mothballs. Respecting the Constitution becomes hating America. Torture is illegal except when it's done to save millions of Americans, and, by the way, we don't torture.
Let's redefine the terms, claim victory, be the party of VICTORY and bring our troops home.
