On March 9th, this community came together to try to bring attention to an ad script written by an anonymous guy in Tucson, Arizona. Now that ad has been made.
I saw the script on the TucsonforObama listserv and was moved by its elegance. Rather than offering a firey reply to Clinton's 3am ad, it revealed the underlying cynicism of her campaign -- in a positive way, consistent with the Obama message. I obtained Steve's permission to publish the script here and you did the rest, bringing visibility to a creation that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
This is democracy in action, political community at its best. The genius of this website is the way it channels our collective yearnings for positive change, utilizing the unique skills that each of us have, bringing us together to make an impact that none of us would have alone.
Thanks to everyone. Here's the ad.
PS: The ad has received 398,988 views so far. Not bad, but to have a really significant impact, it needs far more visibility. Please recommend this diary if you wish to bring this ad to the attention of more people. Please also forward links to those outside our community, on other websites and also to the people whom you know personally. There is no tip jar because this effort isn't about me. Nor is it about Steve, the ad's author. Rather, it's a celebration of us coming together to make a real difference, and an opportunity to make an even larger impact.
