The survey about Clinton supporters not voting for Obama, and vice versa, is GREAT news. I actually like the fact that we Democrats have such deeply held beliefs that we are deciding to hold our ground. No one will ever again accuse us of not having spines.
My only request is that we all agree to start acting like adults and stop pouting because other people don't agree with us.
If you honestly believe Obama isn't qualified to be President, then write in Hillary.
If you honestly believe Hillary isn't qualified to be President, then write in Obama.
If the thought of President John McCain makes you ill, then vote for the Democratic nominee.
But whatever your decision, stop throwing mud at your friends, family and others who disagree with you. These bitter arguments you are making are not persuading others to adopt your point of view, nor are they helping you.
So cheer up Hillary and Obama supporters! Realize that you are an adult and are fully empowered to make your own decisions based on your beliefs, values and principles. Moreover, realize that other adults are capable of making THEIR own decisions. See how good that feels!
But whatever decision you make, make it based on what feels true to you. Once you make that decision, regardless of the consequences, you'll feel good about it because it was right for you.
It will also be good for those of us who disagree with you because you'll have the self confidence to stop telling us how stupid, corrupt, or fucked up we are.
If you don't stand for something then you'll go for anything.
