John McCain has prided himself time and again on his, "straight talk," and his no-nonsense attitude when answering questions and delivering policy. In fact, one of his largest complaints about Barack Obama is Barack's tendency to make opaque and unclear generalizations regarding his plans for the country:
To encourage a country with only rhetoric rather than sound and proven ideas that trust in the strength and courage of free people is not a promise of hope. It is a platitude.
His unwavering commitment to specificity is precisely why his latest campaign produced web advertisement is so strikingly bold in it's content:
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama just said they’d solve the problem by raising your taxes. More money out of your pocket.
John McCain has a better plan. Grow jobs, grow our economy... not grow Washington.
When addressing a topic as central both to this election and to the hearts of the voters as our current American economic crisis, surely a principled leader like John McCain cannot be campaigning on the vagaries of nice sounding but empty platitudes. Rather, he must be presenting a concise and premeditated policy proposal distilled into a cool 30 second spot. We must evaluate the nuance and straight-talkin' literal reality behind his statement: John McCain will grow jobs. But how could one possibly, "grow," our economy without raising taxes in a time of war? It cannot be done, you say, the multi-trillion dollar war debt is just too great and our foreign borrowing too widespread for the numbers to support further tax cuts.
That sort of inside-the-box thinking is precisely why you are not the maverick politician who will become the greatest American president in our generation.
John McCain will tap into the 142 Billion Dollar industry fat-cat Democrats had been too chickenshit to touch: sweet, leafy pot. Legalizing marijuana will create thousands of "green collar" jobs throughout the heartland of this country stricken by job loss overseas. And the bevy of new sales tax money supplied by its working class consumers will more than supplant further tax breaks for those wealthiest of Americans who, in the interests of their bottoms lines, sent said jobs there in the first place. Thank God for the visionary leadership of John McCain - the American president America has been waiting for. America!!
