I'm sick of everyone freaking out the past day or so here on dKos. Too many of you are acting like he is on the verge of losing the race, but the truth is Obama will win the nomination.
- Nothing has changed since Tuesday when he, as expected, lost the Pennsylvania primary and came out with a net loss of only 10 delegates compared to the 8 delegate loss his own campaign projected. Barack Obama currently has a 160 delegate lead. She has to win each of the remaining primaries by nearly 40 points each to have a chance of winning. Obama was born and raised in Hawaii and he took it by 40 points. Unless Hillary can somehow reincarnate in all the remaining states within the week, these stupendously high margins of victory isn't gonna happen, people.
- The superdelegates themselves have stated they are not buying Hillary's electability argument. Even the Mr. Super blog maintains that the popular vote "argument", which counts MI/FL and disregards all the caucuses, is facitious and no one bought it. Hillary Clinton is not trying to sway superdelegates right now. She is trying to convince them to hold off endorsing. She is not in a position of power.
- Polls:
RCP Average of national tracking polls: Obama +5.8
RCP Average of North Carolina primary: Obama +12.3
RCP Average of Indiana primary: Tied
Oh no, Obama is leading in a national tracking poll! Even if he were polling low in that, it wouldn't matter because 45 states have already voted. Oh no, Obama has a double-digit lead in North Carolina! Yes, the numbers have gone down but she is campaigning hard there while Obama is focused on Indiana. The demographics are in Obama's favor and he will pull out a solid win regardless.
As for Indiana, if the recent diaries here and here are any indication, it's not looking bad and I would even say there's a good chance of taking it. Don't forget the amazing Obama machine and it's ability to get out the vote. Indiana will come down to ground game and we win that.
- Rev. Wright:
His former pastor says some stuff, cable news jumps all over it, and everyone goes crazy. The Wright controversy isn't going to affect anything anymore. Everyone already made up their minds about it -- whether to be offended by it or not -- in March and nothing will change that. Repeat after me. The sky is NOT falling. This is not Obama, this is his former pastor. His speeches affect nothing anymore. This is now just white noise for cable news to fill the airwaves with and to get people to freak out and talk about it. That's what they want you to do. Don't give them the satisfaction.
The Clintonista trolls have come out of the woodworks and are flooding dKos because they won a news day. Don't be upset with them, everyone deserves to have a good day every now and then. Respond by donating, phonebanking, and canvassing. Let's put Hillary Clinton out of her misery and end this nonsense on May 6th.
