The Republican's smeared Childers' Congressional run with nasty Wright-filled snarls from their '08 kitchen sink. And threw in plenty of "Liberal" and "Pelosi". Didn't work, as Obama noted today on the trail.
Doesn't this mean that Obama's "baggage" has been road-tested, again, just like in NC? It doesn't matter to enough voters. Not even in Mississippi.
But Hillary Clinton's baggage has not been similiarly tested, by actual voters, under kitchen sink conditions, in this election cycle. No repugnant Hillary smears all over the airwaves. Shouldn't the Super delegates be thinking about who's "riskier"? The tested or the untested?
There have been no elections laced with a scandals of the '90's review. No Republican YouTube "I did not have..." finger wagging sleaze-a-rama's of the former President. And zero post-White House delvings at all. No Yucaipa investigations. No speaking fee lists. Not even a clear explanation of what in the world Bill Clinton is going to be doing in the Clinton III administration. Or how Clinton Library fund-raising -- or even Bill's work out in the world-- can happen without extreme conflict of interest with his wife in the White House.
Childers' win is the third election seemingly showing that voters have come to their senses and want Republicans gone. Hillary may see this as proof that it doesn't matter if she wins ugly, or even figures out a steal, this year the Democrat is going to the White House.
Actually, the Childers' win is proof that her innuendo's of inelectability about Obama are baseless. Not even racism works. A white guy in Mississippi endorsed by Obama wasn't brought down by the Republican's worst.
It's Hillary's baggage that's risky. It's not been vetted by voters. With the Edwards' endorsement, perhaps Super delegates will come to realize that the only real risk is to waste another day of not being united?
