Hard on the heels of his successful eight year presidential campaign, which resulted in a massive block of 18 +/- delegates to the 2008 Democratic national convention, John Edwards issued the following endorsements:
The Red Sox for 2007 MLB World Champions!
Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House!
The New York Giants for 2008 Super Bowl Champs!
No Country for Old Men for 2008 Best Picture Oscar!
Harry Reid for Senate Majority Leader!
David Hyde Pierce for the 2007 Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical!
Carrie Underwood for 2007 Best New Artist Grammy!
Maura West, As The World Turns, for 2007 Daytime Emmy Award, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series!
The Anaheim Ducks for 2007 NHL Stanley Cup champions!
It's always inspiring to see a politician with the political courage to jump in front of the curve. What leadership! I'm sure he'll do for the Obama campaign everything he did for Kerry in 2004.
BTW - Along with others, I've never forgiven Kerry for ending campaign 2004 with millions of dollars of unspent campaign funds in the bank, which could / should have gone to / for preemptive injunctive legal action nationwide to prevent what happened in Florida in 2000 from being repeated elsewhere in 2004 (i.e., just imagine the different outcome in Ohio and thus in the electoral college if the Kerry campaign had obtained an order requiring the distribution of voting machines pro rata in proportion to the population). Unfortunately, Kerry wimped out when it counted. But, in 2008, Kerry had the cojones to back Obama when it was neither safe nor in the bag.
