I know that there are countless examples of Republican hypocrisy, but the following struck me as particularly egregious.
Okay... Republicans hate "activist" judges. The judges who look at the context of the Constitution at the time it was written, all the common law associated with it, all the common law since its signing, and the current context. Republicans prefer constructionist judges. The ones who base their decisions solely on the actual text of the document. None of this mamby pamby will of the people stuff.
Now... Republicans are very upset about the recent ruling in California. Where the judges ignored the state constitution and followed the will of the people, right? WRONG. The majority based their decision on the constitution despite the referendum voted on back in 2004.

I guess what really gets my goat is that one of the more lasting damages that the republicans are leaving with us is all these conservative judges with lifetime appointments. The republicans should be overjoyed that the judges stayed so close to the existing body of law. Once again, it's results over principle.
