Hey Folks, I'm usually the rebellious type and seem to often take the minority point of view and this is no exception. First off, I am an Obama supporter from the very beginning. My second choice is anyone but Hillary. My opinion of HRC was low at the beginning of this campaign and it has plunged drastically from there. I nearly loathe her at this point. However, of the all the disgusting things her and her cronies have spouted during this campaign, I don't find that today's "gaffe" ranks among them. I just simply don't find it offensive whatsoever.
I think the MSM loves to hype shit like this up. The blogosphere should not take the bait. This reminds me of the "bitter" comment hysteria. At least that one had a smidgeon of a basis, since he chose his words poorly. In this case, she was merely stating that previous primaries had gone until June. What's the big deal? RFK was assassinated and that changed the nominee as late as June. That's a fact. You have to really read into it and twist it all around to get it to resemble some kind of suggestion that Obama might be assassinated and that's why she should stay in.
I'm sorry, you all just fell victim to mass hysteria. Realize it, break the spell, keep yourself free of this kind of low ground arguing and you will maintain the credibility that comes with the high ground. Once you choose the low ground of distorting people's sound bites, you have no credibility when you need it later. That's all.
Update: Just to respond to the trend in many comments. Now I know why hysterical is also used to connote really funny. You people are cracking me up. Assassination is not a dirty word. Even if it does say ass in it twice. It is no great taboo to INVOKE the god awful word. Assassination is not "He who shall not be named." Relax. People have been assassinated. RFK is one of them. That was 40 years ago. It's okay to mention it. Really it is. You are not INVOKING anything. Just using a word. Come on you can say it, it won't bite you.
About the poll: Yes there are only two extreme choices. You should read all sorts of things into that and make that mean all sorts of things about what type of person I must be. Yes, you should make personal attacks on me because I disagree with about one tenth of a percent of your politics. The choices were meant to be hyperbolic. Have some sense of humor. The true answers are yes or no. You can ignore the rest.
Update #2: Now people are accusing me of having ulterior motives and being a troll. Saying I'm a faux Obama supporter. Next you'll be asking to see my flag lapel pin. This is an outrage. He's expressing a dissenting opinion. Let the Witch Hunt begin. Off with his head. This is truly hysterical. I'm loving this. You all should go check out my last diary wherein I defended Rev. Wright.
By the way, 35% voted No, so there are others out there who have not been swept up in the righteous indignance.
