Chris Matthews said this evening on "Hardball" that people are still interested in the Rev. Wright story. His proof? His ratings.
I was watching Chris Matthews on "Hardball," and he breathlessly spat into the TV screen that people are still interested in the Rev. Wright story and he knows they are because of his ratings. If Chris Matthews thinks his ratings are an indication that we still want to hear about Rev. Wright, than please help him to understand diffrently by turning his show off. I personally am done with Matthews. He is All Wright - All the Time.
The media may have the wrong impression of what Americans believe to be important and those of us who may know better could be stearing them wrong by our viewing of their programs. Chris Matthews, whether swept up in the moment or in an act of bravado, bragged tonight that his ratings indicate the people are still interested in the Rev. Wright story and that people want more answers from Obama. Well, I gave him my answer by shutting him off.
America has been dumbed down far enough. Now we are being beaten over the head by our media day in and day out. Chris Matthews is among the worst offenders. He is Wright for an hour straight. I know some of you have turned him off. I am joining those ranks. I urge everyone to do the same.
I have sent Chris Matthews the following email:
Chris,
I almost fell off my chair while watching "Hardball" tonight. You said you know people are still interested in the Rev. Wright story because your ratings tell you so. You are so wrong. You misread your ratings, at least as far as my viewing is concerned.
I watch "Hardball" because I want to stay informed and you do a good job of that usually. But lately you have been "All Wright all the time". I stopped watching you for a few weeks before the PA primary, but turned you back on a week before that contest and all the days since. But after your comment tonight, I am turning you off for good until all the primaries are over. I don't want you misreading what my viewing means. So now you can read what my not viewing means.
Thanks.
