I enjoyed the article in Technology Review, which gave a synopsis of the three both candidates' policies related to six issues of technology. Both Clinton and Obama look pretty good. McCain looks pretty dumb. (Big surprise.) Read it here.
Clinton and Obama favor net neutrality; McCain discourages too much regulation of the marketplace. Obama and Clinton voted in favor of the Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act; Bush doesn't want to burden corporations Americans.
Since it finally seems clear that Obama will be the next POTUS, I'm happy to report that he seems to have a relatively robust policy on issues related to technology. I wish his policies on renewable energy were a little better thought out, but I gather that he's bright enough to figure it out soon.
One thing's for sure: the next POTUS (even if happened by some accident to be McCain) won't let politics run science, as Bush has done. Thank God there's only 258 days of terror and ignorance left.
