It seems such a short time ago, the Colorado Democratic Convention. I'll never forget Mark Udall's excessive entrance. All the lights went out, the music started, Mark entered through the back, the spotlights and strobes went on followed by 10 minutes of high fives and handshakes by the candidate as his handlers moved him towards the stage. Everyone, including myself, was holding Udall for Senate signs high in the air and cheering. Udall took the stage and promised to fight for our Constitutional rights...
Well, the convention is over, Mark is up a few points and low and behold, he votes for Steny Hoyer's FISA compromise. The only compromise in the bill is the compromise of our constitutional rights. I immediately called his campaign to express my displeasure and disappointment and do you know what their response was?
"What, you want Bob Shaeffer in there?"
What kind of answer is that? Bob Shaeffer is running on his willingness to abridge my Constitutional rights for some "GWOT".
At his Congressional office in DC, I was informed that a statement will be issued on his website within the hour, explaining his vote. You see, I have five of his "statements" in my email.
There is the one about how Udall believes crimes have been committed, justifying impeachment... followed by an explanation of why, at this time, Mark won't support it.
There is the one about how Mark is against the war, and against further funding... followed by an explanation of why, at this time, he is voting for more war funds.
I could go on...
Look, I needed to rant to some people who care about these issues, and you people are it. I know this site is about electing Democrats, regardless of there position on the ideological spectrum. But I am getting sick of elected Democratic officials telling me what I want to hear, then voting the opposite. If there are any CO voters reading this, please call Mark Udall's campaign and Congressional offices and let them know what you think about his vote to negate the Fourth Amendment.

Thanks, I apologize for the rant.
