A fellow kossack, JWSwift, has gotten a LTE published by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in response to their moronic call "Impeachment not worth another minute of anybody's time".
The opinion piece by the Sentinel calls for Wexler and Kucinich to drop their impeachment bid for "real issues"
JWSwift's response:
Not impeaching Bush sends wrong message to future presidents
June 23, 2008
Regarding your editorial stand over the effort to impeach George W. Bush and Dick Cheney: If the issue of keeping this country a law-abiding nation, starting at the top, is not "real" enough for you, then I don't know what will be.
What kind of message are we sending when trivialities over a possibly improper relationship become an impeachable offense for a Democratic president but the multiple atrocities foisted upon this country by a Republican one can't get any traction, and even your paper wants us to look the other way? How can we expect to clean up our government and change the dark course that we've been headed down recently, if we aren't willing to abide by our own laws and principles, even if it might seem inconvenient or not expedient at this moment? Where's the disincentive to keep our next president from lying to the entire country if he knows there'll be no price to be paid?
If we're going to preoccupy ourselves with only the pressing day-to-day issues and not be willing to see the bigger picture, we'll just be setting ourselves up for something even worse to happen to us in the future. Please do us a favor and re-think your knee-jerk reaction toward the efforts of Reps. Robert Wexler and Dennis Kucinich.
Couldn't have said it better myself!
This is how we fight ladies and gentlemen... Never back down! Keep writing LTE... It's just like posting a comment on Kos, only it steps out of the echo chamber.
