This has been my dream all through childhood and early adulthood (I am now 26 year old accountant).
Disclaimer, I don't konw the science behind all of this, but these are just my thoughts and dreams. My ideas are always evolving so I don't have all the answers and I have missed/forgot things.
I have always loved new technology and it has helped me to come to these conclusions. I have personally loved the look of the windmills, I think they are relaxing and pleasant to look at. The thought of clean, green, renewable, cheap energy being produced is music to my ears.
I want the Southwest desert filled with solar plants. You can put them on buildings, above parking lots, in parks, etc. If you can get a cheap and renewable energy that does not add to Climate change, DO IT NOW.

I also think they should line the nations highways and coasts with wind mills. We have endless amounts of highways and coasts, which could be great sources of energy. Yes, I understand some places are better than others for wind power but I am of the mind that some is better than none. We could build these by American labor by reopenning the countless closed manufacturing plants throughout the country. Building these items would give new jobs in construction, manufacturing, and research.

We should build the planned national high spreed railroad, which will finally give us the rails like Europe has had for years. The area I know of is call the "Ohio Hub"

The trains will use less fuel than cars and planes ,while being able to run more often since weather has less effect. The building of this national high speed railroads would give tons more jobs by manning the railroad, construction to build the rails, steelmills for the steel rails, engineers, research, etc.
My dream for the future: In the near future, all houses that are newly build will be built with solar panels on the roof, a small wind turbine on the fireplace, and some have geo-thermal. All existing houses be refitted and upgraded to have the same. This would help everyone be part of the solution and be their own mini power plant. Everyone growing their own vegetable gardens to help reduce food costs and their carbon foot print.
Now this will take a lot of initial money, but long term it would pay off. People need to see the long term and stop just seeing what will help in the here and now.
I don't know if Obama will get all of these ideas accomplished, but he has stated that he will try for a lot of these. We have to start somewhere, I know it will take time.
Thank you very much for reading it. Have a great day and thank you again.
