We stood in line for hours to see Obama shatter barriers and make history. I only had to travel a short distance to attend, but I spoke to one woman who drove to St Paul from Duluth (about $60 in gas). I am sure she wasn’t alone. I heard on the radio as I returned from the event that the line was more than a mile long. The crowd was different than it was during the previous election; I saw a large cross-section of America, including many minorities.
This woman brought her daughter to see the event.
People kept themselves busy waiting in line for hours. They ate meals.
Practiced with their big eyes.
And made small change in their own way.

As I walked into the event Hall, I was greeted by Keith Olbermann on the big screen mounted from the ceiling in the hall. That was a welcome sign. We learned that Barack had passed the magic number of delegates.
When Barack and Michelle entered the arena, the crowd felt the electricity. I was in the nose bleed seats.
But I brought my telephoto lens.
We all heard Barack announce “Because of you, I can say that I will be the Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America."
Barack worked the crowd.
And Obama Mama said it was good.
As did the Barack and Roll Group
And the press.
Now it’s time to go back to work
