Well, it's over. Hillary has suspended her campaign, and has enthuisiastically announced her support for Obama.
The wounds to Hillary's supporters will take time to heal. And the sooner they heal, the more likely we are to win the election.
Many of us want Obama to make his own choice for VP without pressure from the Clinton camp. To cave into pressure would be perceived as a weakness, and hurt Obama.
So I suggest that Obama ask for input (but not veto power) on the candidates he is considerring. He may also ask Hillary to recommend some names like Rendell or Clark.
For instance, if Obama ends up choosing Webb, with his perceived anti-women issues, knowing that Clinton had some input would help ease that issue.
Again, it would have to be agreed to by Hillary that she did not have veto power, but that her opinion and years of experience would be valued and taken into consideration by the Obama administration.
