I didnt see anything on this on the frontpage or on the diary list, so I thought I'd post a sort of liveblog of tonight's GA primary elections. I'll delete if there isnt much interest in them.
Important Democratic races:
Senate:
The winner of this race faces incumbent Saxby Chambliss in the fall, and will likely be a huge underdog.

I voted for Martin in the primary. He was the only candidate that advertised, or at least advertised heavily. Vernon Jones, the controverisal Dekalb CEO will likely make it to the run-off. I think it would hurt downticket races and Obama's campaign in the state if Jones ended up the nominee.
The key counties to watch for the Senate primary: Fulton(Atlanta) and Dekalb(heavily Democratic metro Atlanta county). They havent come in yet, but most Democratic votes will come from there.
Ga-12th district race: Rep. John Barrow, facing state senator Regina Thomas.

Barrow looks like he will win. Barrow is pretty conservative, and it doesnt seem like Thomas's candidacy really took off, even in the blogosphere. I didnt see much written about it on this site. Thomas, who is black, was hoping for a huge black turnout in this 40% black district, but it doesnt look like that happened. Barrow got the endorsement of many local politicians, two major newspapers in the district, the AFL-CIO, and Barack Obama.
