I have ben thinking about McCain's focus on Georgia, and the fact that a sizeable number of red-state Americans do not believe in evolution and that the sun goes round the earth and it suddenly struck me most Americans have no fucking idea where the country Georgia is but do know that Atlanta is the state capital of Georgia.
In all the discussions about Georgia that have dominated the Mainstream Media this week and with John McCain claiming to be in contact with the head of the Georgian State and dispatching his foreign policy wrecking crew to the Cuacusses, I am surprised that no one has brought up the point that most American's have no idea there is a country called Georgia.
I think it would work for Mccain, if somehow he could get the atlanta Braves to announce they were canceling their games because they are under threat from Commie tanks and stuff. But sadly for Mccain and his neo-Conservatives, the Braves continue to play unhindered. If they could somehow recreate Sherman's march to the sea and burn Atlanta to the ground, which some would argue this is not a bad idea, I think McCain would be on solid ground to play out his Foreign Policy credentials, but the news on Monday will report McCain has gone to Georgia to raise money at a fundraiser in Atlanta and if McCain can go raise money in Georgia then how could it be under attack by the Russians.
I realize the previous observations are quite absurd, but most American's have no idea where anything outside the United States is, and they have had it drummed into them that the only people threatening America are islamo-fascists with names like Hussein and Ossama. So unfortunately I think this Georgian thing is a bust for McCain because not even Fox news has reported any kind of attack on Atlanta or Athens by them pesky islamists and the only political news that gets repeated is that Mccain leads Obama in polls from Georgia.
