Please support Juan, an Amazing Obama Volunteer
He doesn't have an account on Kos but Juan is the most passionate, tireless Obama volunteer I have met. By day, he's an art student here in Philly. By night (and actually, pretty much all other times as well) he's a neighborhood team captain for the Obama campaign, a key organizer for GOTV efforts, a tireless canvasser, and an all-around nice guy who is passionate about getting Obama elected. He stood out in the rain at the Constitution Center when Obama gave his race speech just for the chance to see him walk by, and he and I were lucky enough to get front row seats at a volunteer training session Obama conducted here in Philly before the primary. He was in tears of joy at both events.
He has entered a tee shirt design into a contest for Obama. If I didn't like the design, I'd have given him a courtesy vote and moved on. But I truly love the design and encourage you all to vote for it.
You can vote for it here.
Here's the email I got from him about the contest:
My friends, I just entered a contest sponsored by the Obama campaign. The picture below is a copy of my design. The winning design will be sold online at the Obama store and the winner will have a shirt signed by Barack himself. I really want to win and going to pester the heck out of you non-stop to vote for me. The entry is available to vote now at Tees for the People. It's currently on the first page. I want to thank you in advance for sending me to victory.
I looked at many of the other t-shirts in the contest and while lots of them are well done and creative, I think Juan's design is far more interesting and unusual. It captures an image of hope, loftiness and inspiration, while using a basketball theme to remind us who Obama really is. On so many levels it just works.
Please look at the design here:
And then vote here.
Right now the shirt is on the first page and I hope it stays there, but if not, please click through the other pages to find it.
Thanks again.
