First, it is a huge myth Hillary Clinton has this amazing amount of experience.
WTF????
Statistics: Hillary Clinton, considered far-left by Govtracker, has sponsored 383 bills since Jan 22, 2001, of which 329 haven't made it out of committee and 11 were successfully enacted. Clinton has co-sponsored 1868 bills during the same time period.
Fine. That is just like any other junior senator. Big whoop.
Now, I keep hearing that Hillary is probably happy that Obama chose someone of a similar level of experience as her. Biden? Similar amount of experience? Biden, the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the previous Chairman of the Judiciary Committees? Similar? I repeat ...
WTF????
The second biggest myth, that being held prisoner of war in Vietnam somehow gives John McCain the right to the presidency, may be debatable. It could be true ... But, if so, there is a lot of company.
Of the 802 Southeast Asia POWs (661 military, 141 civilians/foreign nationals), 472 were tortured and imprisoned in North Vietnam, some longer than eight years, 263 in the South Vietnam jungle POW camps for as long as nine years.
And, at Military.com, Doctor Phillip Butler "a 1961 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and a former light-attack carrier pilot. In 1965 he was shot down over North Vietnam where he spent eight years as a prisoner of war. He is a highly decorated combat veteran who was awarded two Silver Stars, two Legion of Merits, two Bronze Stars and two Purple Heart medals", describes "Why I Will Not Vote for John McCain".
I furthermore believe that having been a POW is no special qualification for being President of the United States. The two jobs are not the same, and POW experience is not, in my opinion, something I would look for in a presidential candidate.
Most of us who survived that experience are now in our late 60's and 70's. Sadly, we have died and are dying off at a greater rate than our non-POW contemporaries. We experienced injuries and malnutrition that are coming home to roost. So I believe John's age (73) and survival expectation are not good for being elected to serve as our President for 4 or more years.
I can verify that John has an infamous reputation for being a hot head. He has a quick and explosive temper that many have experienced first hand. Folks, quite honestly that is not the finger I want next to that red button.
Heck, we all know this. And, having slept with a Vietnam vet at one time in my life, and having him leap from the bed screaming when the phone rang ... well, I don't think that this is a good thing.
But, what I do want to know is how does this stuff get propagated???
