We know there's THIS:
and then there's this:
and let's not forget this:
Given the above, I have yet to understand why anyone would conclude that McCain is better able to settle Foreign Affairs issues better than Sen. Obama, other than the fact that the public is suffering from the effect of mere repetition at the hands of a dishonest traditional media. While the TM excessively reports every concern about Sen. Obama's preparedness, there's little to no scrutiny about McCain's preparedness.
Why haven't those traditional media talking heads spent more time asking WHY McCain won't answer the VEEP question!?!?! What should be an issue for political pundits is that the man who has said that he's ready to lead hasn't shown an ounce of leadership. He's not leading, he's following.
Sen. McCain has had two months longer than Sen. Obama to solidify his base and name his VP pick. What has he done with that gift of two months? So far, Sen. McCain has run the most dishonest Presidential campaign in modern history, that I can remember. Cindy McCain vowed that there would be ZERO negative campaigning from her husband's camp (hence the Rove partisans taking part in his campaign).
McCain has spent more time poking fun at Obama, while hiding behind a pop singer dealing with mental illness, a reality star heiress, and Hillary Clinton's primary campaign - and even SHE has commented that McCain has ignored her statements about how much she and Sen. Obama are in agreement.
I won't hold my breath, but it will be interesting to see if the press pushes McCain and asks him why he's taken so long to find a Veep considering the fact that he hasn't closed the deal with Republican voters, yet. Wouldn't he, more than anyone, need the time to use his Veep pick to solidify his base? His 'wait and see' strategy suggests one of two things:
- A lack of leadership. Nothing, so far, has suggested that he's able to take command of either his campaign or this country.
- That he's concerned enough about his chances this fall, that he had to wait for Obama's Veep choice to make the best possible counter he could to try to neutralize Obama's choice.
Without assistance, Sen McCain can't accurate discuss how many homes he owns (Dreier at HuffPo is reporting that the number is TEN), or what kind of car he drives (a Cadillac CTS). He hasn't shown a penchant for grasping the large issues (like the economy, or the war) or the "small" issues - like his own finances. I'm not surprised by the fact that he hasn't yet made a selection, or won't announce a decision if he has made one.
Maybe the same staffer charged with counting the numerous McCain homes, or keeping track of the car he drives could help him make that decision. Just throwing that out there.
