First, I'd like to point out that even OBAMA turned to C-SPAN from MSNBC so he could see the actual speeches:
Obama grabbed a remote control to switch from MSNBC which had the camera on former President Clinton sitting in the Denver audience to CSPAN which was carrying Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer's speech live.
I knew that man was smart! Hopefully even MORE people will start tuning in to C-SPAN!
Gov. Sebelius:
I’m sure you remember a girl from Kansas who said there’s no place like home. Well, in John McCain’s version, there’s no place like home. Or a home. Or a home. Or a home. Or a home.
Now, even though John McCain has spent 26 years in Washington voting over and over against investing in renewable energy, John McCain does support some "renewables." He wants to renew the failed Bush agenda for another four years.
Gov. Strickland:
You know, it was once said of the first George Bush that he was born on third base and thought he'd hit a triple. Well, with the 22 million new jobs and the budget surplus Bill Clinton left behind, George W. Bush came into office on third base -- and then he stole second. And John McCain cheered him every step of the way.
[W]hile families are losing sleep tonight trying to figure out some way to make their paycheck stretch through one more day, John McCain is sleeping better than ever. He's sleeping better than ever because he thinks "Americans, overall, are better off ..." thanks to President Bush.
Sen. Casey:
John McCain calls himself a maverick, but he votes with George Bush more than 90% of the time. That’s not a maverick, that’s a sidekick.
The Bush-McCain Republicans inherited the strongest economy in history and drove it into a ditch. They cut taxes on the wealthiest of us and passed on the pain to the least of us. They ran up the debt, gave huge subsidies to big oil companies, and now they're asking for four more years.
How 'bout four more months? We can't afford four more years of deficit and debt, drift and desperation. Not four more years. Four more months. And we can't afford another president who will veto children's health insurance for 10 million children, or who will keep senior citizens from seeing the doctors they trust. Not four more years. Four more months.
Gov. Rendell:
The only thing green in John McCain’s energy plan is the billions of dollars he’s promising in tax cuts for oil companies. And the only thing he’ll recycle is the same failed Bush approach to energy policy.
Gov. Paterson:
If [McCain is] the answer, then the question must be ridiculous.
Rep. Emanuel:
There is only one candidate from the middle class, that understands the middle class, and that can deliver the change the middle class needs: Barack Obama. A strong economy depends on a strong middle class. But George Bush has put the middle class in a hole and John McCain has a plan to keep digging that hole with George Bush’s shovel.
You know, President Bush inherited the strongest economy in history and a huge budget surplus. He inherited an economy that created 23 million new jobs. I’m a little surprised. You would think the one thing President Bush was good at was inheriting things. Instead he turned a $236 billion surplus into a record deficit and added nearly $4 trillion in new debt. That’s the one thing we can say about George Bush: Mr. President, we will be forever in your debt.
Gov. Schweitzer:
At a time when America should be working harder than ever to develop new, clean sources, John McCain wants more of the same and has taken more than a million dollars in campaign donations from the oil and gas industry. Now he wants to give the oil companies another 4 billion dollars in tax breaks. Four billion in tax breaks for big oil?
That’s a lot of change, but it’s not the change we need.
Even leaders in the oil industry know that Senator McCain has it wrong. We simply can’t drill our way to energy independence, even if you drilled in all of John McCain’s backyards, including the ones he can’t even remember.
Gov. Patrick:
The American people have had enough. But Democrats don't deserve to win just because Republicans deserve to lose. If the American story is to have a chance, we need more than better programs and policies. We need better vision.
Rep. Kuchinch:
If there was an Olympics for misleading, mismanaging and misappropriating, this administration would take the gold. World records for violations of national and international laws. They want another four-year term to continue to alienate our allies, spend our children’s inheritance and hollow out our economy.
This administration can tap our phones. They can’t tap our creative spirit. They can open our mail. They can’t open economic opportunities. They can track our every move. They lost track of the economy while the cost of food, gasoline and electricity skyrockets. They skillfully played our post-9/11 fears and allowed the few to profit at the expense of the many. Every day we get the color orange, while the oil companies, the insurance companies, the speculators, the war contractors get the color green.
Wake up, America. Wake up, America. Wake up, America.
Gov. Napolitano:
Arizonans are also proud of their political tradition, from Barry Goldwater to Mo Udall to Bruce Babbitt. There's a pattern here. Barry Goldwater ran for president and he lost. Mo Udall ran for president. He lost. Bruce Babbitt ran for president. And he lost. Speaking for myself, and for at least this coming election, this is one Arizona tradition I'd like to see continue!
Now, just as I am proud of Arizona, I like to be positive about my fellow Arizonans. So I wanted to say something positive about Senator McCain. When I heard him say the economy is not an issue he understands as well as he should, my problem was solved. Because I can say to you tonight, positively, that John McCain is right. He doesn't understand the economy as well as he should. And he doesn't understand how the policies he has supported and wants to perpetuate have so terribly misfired.
Sen. Klobuchar:
People who live in seven houses shouldn't throw stones.
Cecile Richards:
I am the president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. After eight years of George Bush, you might be surprised that a Texan is president of Planned Parenthood. After all, there aren't many people eager to see the words "Texan" and "president" in the same sentence ever again.
A woman voting for mccain is like a chicken voting for Colonel Saunders.
Where women's health is concerned, it seems clear that when John McCain says "I don't know," what he really means is "I don't care." Women deserve better.

Leave it to the Republicans to serve a big business agenda and call it a small business plan. They may not know the difference between Wall Street and Main Street, but Barack Obama knows that small business is big business in America.
I'm sure I've missed some, so if I did, add them in the comments and I'll add them to the diary!
I don't know WHAT convention the traditional media is watching, but the Dems definitely went hard on McCain yesterday, and I bet they'll go even harder tonight!
For those who don't have CSPAN, you can also watch the live feed here on the official convention website. That feed has gotten rave reviews! You can also watch the c-span feed online here.
~note~ I readily admit that Hillary kicked ass last night! The reason that I haven't put her or Mark Warner in the diary is because they were covered by the other stations. This diary is sort of a "what you missed while the airheads were talking" deal. But I really think she did well, in fact, she did so well in my opinion that I sent her a donation. It wasn't much, but it should help. If you thought she did a great job, you should send her some money too! Remember, a lot of people sending small amounts of money goes a long way!
