Scouting for art before heading off to the local State Fair today, I found some amazing variety and thought you'd get a kick out of it.
Topping the bill is a wonderful fine art painting video with graffiti artist Nezo of the Sour Grapes, showing us step-by-step, his beautiful rendition of Barack Obama on canvas. It makes me want to get right into my studio and paint, paint, paint.
More features below.
Also found are these gems at heart4art. (Posted today, August 31, 2008)
- Aaron Foster's art using USA State license plates to comprise a 50 state image,
- Lisa Marie Regan's signpost sculpture,
- an image attributed to Mccs1977, representing Obama with a boom box and graphic elements,
- "Black Threads" --a quilt designer's fabric block using Obama's logo,
and for some humor,
- A notation from 'yesbutnobutyes' that Lorne Michaels ought to lure Tina Fey back to SNL to play Sarah Palin,
(you have to agree when you compare them in these pictures),
- A great illustration of the Clintons and Obama for nymag, conveying that the Clintons would not mess up the convention for Obama. I just really liked the drawing of the people.
UPDATE on teesforthepeopleObama tee design contest: August 31 is the DEADLINE, SO IF YOU ARE GONG TO ENTER, HOP TO IT!
