Down here in Kentucky our political season pretty much kicks into gear in the hot, humid late days of summer. In Western Kentucky, our season kicked into high gear with the Fancy Farm Picnic. Kentucky has an excellent chance this year of turning the corner, and electing a strong Democratic delegation to our Congress next year. Democrats here have fielded an amazingly strong and diverse lineup of candiates, all ready to heat their races up!!
I can tell you right now not to count out Bruce Lunsford in the Kentucky Senate race. While the latest polls show him trailing, this race is far from over. Our Lt. Governor now, Dr. Dan Mongiardo trailed by 20+ pts in his Senate race in 04, and lost by 1.7%. This race is still within reach.
I know Bruce has angered some in the past, I am among them. Having had a chance to speak briefly with him at Fancy Farm, I sincerely believe as a former opponent that Bruce Lunsford will fight for us on all the major issues. He believes in a sane Middle East policy, Healthcare for all Americans, and fighting for the working class. I would sure rather have a man like Bruce Lunsford than the sneering mug of McConnell.
See Bruce at Fancy Farm, a tough venue for ANY politician on either side:
It is time to Ditch Mitch America!! Go here and show Lunsford that we got his back against the most disgusting political machine in the country, the Mitch McConnell Republican machine of Kentucky!!

Cause we know what kind of Government McConnell wants:
Now, in the second district we have an excellent chance of picking up an extra seat in Sen. David Boswell. Here is David on July 4:
David has been slightly ahead
in polling done on this race. He has name recognition, and is respected in his district. This race definately offers real hope for a pickup. Help Boswell here:

Moving on, most Democrats know Third District Congressman John Yarmuth. Congressman Yarmuth has proved to be one of the very best of the Freshman class of 06. He has earned the support of the Progressive Blogosphere. See him here:
While I think Yarmuth is safe, he faces a rematch with a Kentucky Republican sweetheart, Anne Northup. She will be well funded. Support Congressman Yarmuth here:

Next we have the relative newcomers to running for office in Kentucky. Two candidates that show great promise for Democrats, and could provide leadership in Washington for years to come.
First there is Dr. Michael Kelley. Here are several vids to introduce you to this fine, new candidate in Kentucky's Fourth Congressional District:
We need to support newer and better Democrats wherever they are, and quite frankly, here is one. Help him with the resources he needs here:

Speaking of newer and better Democrat, my home of the First Congressional District in Western Kentucky has a young, grassroots Democrat running against the millionaire Exxon Ed Whitfield, a Mitch McConnell lackey. Whitfield will take money from anyone, even terrorists. Heather Ryan's fighting spirit fit right in at Fancy Farm, and she pounded Whitfield and the Republicans:
Heather is a proud Democrat and can win this race if she gets the resources she needs. Whitfield's supporters in this truck:
Were scared enough of her that although their campaign has over a million dollars in their account, they were ripping up, destroying, and taking hers, and other Democratic signs on the road to Fancy Farm.
See Republican "Christian Values" in Kentucky here:
We are in the stretch run now, so please help some serious Democrats in their quest to unseat a very bad Republican. I have set a goal of raising $10,000 for Heather on my ActBlue page by the election. Go here to strike back at Republican dirty tricks:

Support your fellow grassroots Democrats in Kentucky this year, and we won't let you down!!
Best wishes!!
