FIRED UP!
READY TO GO!
FIRED UP!
READY TO GO!
FIRED UP!
READY TO GO!
I know where I am - I'm ready to take it to the Republicans... where are YOU!?!??!
Barack Obama has said many brilliant things over the course of this campaign, but one comment in particular has the ability to change the face of this election - bear with me a moment and I'll get to that statement.
First I want to reflect on something I've heard several talking heads comment on-- such as the 'brilliant' campaign McCain has started running. To shield themselves from the heat of making such asinine comments, they add the obligatory "whether you agree with his methods or not". The most notable and effusive admirer of this garbage has been Tweety, who is now off of my daily viewing list.
BULLSHIT, there's nothing brilliant in lying and distorting the truth. Anyone can lie. A child can lie. Is McCain being given credit for being a 'skillful liar'? Is THAT what we want in a potential President?
There's nothing commendable in looking the American public in the eye, lying, and abusing its trust for political gain. So much for 'Country first'.
There's nothing honorable or admirable in the McCain camp's actions. They're only assuring the American public that if they can't be trusted to tell the truth on the things that are easily verifiable and part of the public domain, they can't be trusted AT ALL.
How the hell can anyone trust McCain-Palin to tell the truth about incidents we, the public, wouldn't be able to research on our own when they're so willing to lie about the obvious? Would you trust them to tell the truth about information found in sensitive Intelligence documents - information they would inevitably use to make a case for war?
Not only will they say what they have to in order to seize power, neither is willing to stop lying when presented with the evidence that their stories have nothing to do with the truth. They're daring you to believe the evidence you've seen with your own lying eyes, over the story they've concocted.
We've been down this road before. The truth? Not needed. Question the lie? You're unAmerican. Refuse to fall in line? Your character is attacked after your words are twisted 180 degrees.
Any member of the press who cites the 'brilliance' of the McCain campaign to lie, distort, and deny has betrayed the public trust and basic decency, as well. You are no better than the young men and women who write fan letters to infamous prisoners and compliment then on their cunning. More than 4,000 dead men and women in the Afghanistan-Iraq wars, more than 40 million uninsured, more than 1 million foreclosures... it's clear sitting in awe of the faux-mavericks-turned-sidekicks is an abomination and a betrayal of the press' role as the front line defenders of freedom.
What line did Sen. Obama utter that has the to potential to change this campaign? He commented that the Republicans do a good job of running campaigns and distoring the truth. The problem is that they don't do such a good job of governing the country (not a direct quote but close).
We need to do everything we can to remind our friends, family, and neighbors of that. When the dust settles, all John McCain has to show, besides chapped lips from kissing the backsides of the people who destroyed his family and his Presidential hopes in 2000, is a blatant disregard for the voters of this nation.
The lipstick on a pig was the last straw... ENOUGH, John McCain!!!
ENOUGH of the sexist campaigning, using Cindy McCain and Sarah Palin as a human shields. Send all-too-willing Sarah out to lie for you, while you stand silently at her side and wait for the party to rally around HER - and the press to focus on her. Set her up as a 'victim' for you to 'defend and protect'.
Enough of sending your wife out to tell the world that you won't be a dirty campaigner, that you are too respectful a man.
ENOUGH of hiding behind children and playing off of the racist fears.
ENOUGH of treating the American public as if we're wrong to want to know where a potential Veep stands on the issues.
If Palin isn't ready for Olbermann, Maddow, and Martin, she's not ready for world leaders and she's for damned sure not ready for the office of the Vice President of the United States, much less the office of the Presidency should she be needed to fill the position.
ENOUGH! Bush, Cheney, Rove, McCain, and Palin. ENOUGH!
I'm standing with Obama - Biden. I'm standing with them because I know that if they're willing to tell me the truth, now, they'll tell the truth later - when it counts and I have to take their word for it.
I'm FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!!
Can I get a "READY TO GO"?
