It's time to use the Republican "strengths" against them.
Some people think it is defensive for Obama to continue to respond to accusations and lies coming out of the McCain campaign, but could there be political gold in that approach? Maybe the growing narrative, at least until the economic crisis takes charge in October, really should focus on the dishonesty of these people.
Let's face it, if we narrowed the central issue of this campaign, the last few campaigns, and the direction the Republican party has taken us, down to a simple, accurate and damning narrative, what could be better then "They are liars"
Certainly the facts over the last eight years support this narrative. They lied to us about Iraq. They lied to us about the economy. They lied to us to swiftboat their opponents. These guys just don't care about the truth. The most recent Palin and McCain distortions only reinforce that narrative and tie them more closely to the liars Bush/Cheney. Focusing on this lying, will force the MSM to finally address it, in its entirety, and how can that be anything but disastrous for the vulnerable McCain/Palin ticket?
So I'm thinking "Enough is Enough" over and over again, until that becomes that central attack line of this campaign.
