We've all enjoyed the side-trips down this road and that, pointing and laughing at various members of the animal kingdom. We've stopped in at the service (to a greater cause) station for a soda, then pulled over for a short rest to take in The View. But we're back on the Interstate now, heading toward our original destination - which the GPS tells us we will reach on or about Nov.4.
With roughly a month and a half left for the drive we've some time to contemplate our arrival. I wonder if all of you have really given it a great deal of thought. Not so much as to the initial days, but with a focus that projects into the future.
If John McCain and Sarah Palin win this election, Ms. Palin is all but certain to be your party's next nominee for president.
Did you catch that, Mr. Huckabee and Mr. Romney and Mr. Gullianni?
In all likelihood your party, in the next election, will be placing into nomination the Governor of Alaska. Not any of the three of you, or Mr. Pawlenty, Mr. Ridge or any others who may distinguish themselves in your party. Sarah Palin.
Are you still convinced your standard bearer made the best choice for his running mate?
We know, because he repeats it often, that he believes his decision to be the best possible for the country, but do you agree that it is the best one for your party?
I welcome the thoughts that any of you gentleman care to share.
