A Danish/Irish rogue. A wandering minstrel with a liquid voice. A gentle, friendly soul. A traveler, a vagabond spirit. A story teller, a poet, a musician. (For a taste of his rich, Irish tones and tunes, go here but don't you dare tell him I sent you!)
He subtly inserts his political views into the witticisms of his craft. He uttered one of the wittiest lines of my week, to the tune of "What do you do with a drunken sailor?" while good-naturedly mocking the owner, the only conservative staff member of the pub where this handsome Celt was performing:
"Put 'im in bed with Sarah Palin, Put 'im in bed with Sarah Palin, put 'im in bed with Sarah Palin, ear-lye in the mornin'"
This worldly, European educated charmer was a camp counselor with me in the summer of 2001, where I daresay I had a mild crush on him then. Running into him again seven years later... he dragged me up to help him sing a tune Saturday night, and then led me by the hand to volunteer with the Irish step dancers.
His pro-Obama leanings and his overall demeanor, his affectionate greetings, love of all peoples and walks of life, and of course his musical talent...
well, I can't get the boy outta my head!
