The irony of John McCain suspending his campaign, and calling for a postponing the Friday debate, is his constant complaining since June that Obama would not meet him for 10 townhall meetings. His whining for months was nerve grating, and now he wants to call the whole thing off.
It's a bluff, once again, when the stakes are high, McGambler bets big.
There are three glaring examples of how any future McPresidency would operate, none of which are very reassuring...the Brittany/Paris celebrity ads, the Palin selection, and this fiasco begun yesterday.
All three are deceitful, manipulative and reek of the desperation of McMaverick, now realizing he's holding a losing hand, his demanding "deuces wild" no longer works. He is falling fast in his prime time moments.
The celebrity ad was the best response McCain could come up with to counter Obama's Berlin speech. Rick Davis said that their research showed Brittany and Paris were the number 2 and 3 celebrities on the internet. They didn't say you had to pull up "Spears going commando" and "Paris exposed" to get that google search to work.
Besides upsetting the Hilton family, the McCain campaign constantly made false accusations about the Iraq/Afghanistan/Israel/Europe tour, from hospitals to gymnasiums, and they continue the misleading theme, by describing the Malaki talks as some sort of "plan" to delay troop withdrawal.
Since Fox was not invited on the Obama trip, (ergo little negative spin), the net result was a mystified press corp who knew McCain was twisting the facts. This was best exemplified by the reports of Andrea Mitchell, signaling future troubles with the press corp.
And there was Senatorial push back from Reed and Hagel, setting the record straight on the Sunday talk shows. It was now "official", John McCain is not telling the truth.
We all see how the Palin selection was a "watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat" stunt, and public opinion will continue to deteriorate. Last night's Couric interview is best described by Ed Rendell:
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell dismissed Sarah Palin’s assessment that the country could be facing another Great Depression Wednesday, saying that the Alaska governor simply "didn’t have a clue" how to answer a question on the economy.
"She doesn’t give answers any more than Senator McCain does," Rendell said on MSNBC. "The answer to that question is, we can avoid a Great Depression by doing things to stimulate the economy. And that’s one area where McCain and Palin have no ideas."
"Governor Palin, in her response, didn't have a clue. She should have pivoted and said, ‘Well, the best way to avoid this becoming a depression is to jumpstart the economy, and here's how we're going to do it.’ They don't have an idea to jumpstart the economy."
Part two of the Couric interview is tonight, John McCain can NOT minimize the cruel reality. And now he suspends his campaign...blindsides Obama on the announcement, pisses off David Letterman, lies to everybody when "economic advisors" turn out to be Lady Rothchild and Katie Couric.
Folks, there are three flat tires on the Straight Talk Bus, McCain has officially become Bob Dole Part II.
