Building upon George Lakoff's idea of creating new terms to shape debate, my wife and I brainstormed words to describe how McCain is trying to use Obama's terms as McCain's own. We felt it was immportant, VERY important, that we develop a new term for someone (like McCant) who tries to make another's ideas their own. Therefore, we came up with the term:
"Prop"
As in, "John McCain propped Obama's message of change."
The verb, "to prop" refers to "stealing someone's idea to make it their own.
In usage:
McCain propped (or is propping) Barack Obama's message of change.
We feel it is important to attribute a term for the action that McLame is doing. The term 'prop' refers to:
.propping up something that's weak to being with
.another's proposition as one's own
.propelling a (false) idea
We hope the community begins to describe McCain's words of change for what they are, that is....
HE'S PROPPING BARACK OBAMA'S AND JOE BIDEN'S CALLS FOR CHANGE!!!!
Thanks,
