I was watching AC 360 last night and they did a story about Sarah Palin's religious training and beliefs. We all know now that since she was a teenager, Sarah attended Wasilla Assembly of God, where they speak in tongues, believe in faith healing, and belief in the imminent return of Jesus and the rapture. I just checked. It's right there on their website This is where Sarah received her religious training.
We all know that she still remains close to that church. We've seen her speeches from this summer about God's plans regarding the pipeline, Iraq, etc. You see, the people of that chruch have some sort of direct knowledge about what God's plans are.
In 2002, she left that church and joined Wasilla Bible Church. I heard some things last night that disturbed me. Here's the story CNN Story
Lat night, I saw this on CNN:
Palin now attends the Wasilla Bible Church. She was there on August 17, just days before entering the national spotlight. David Brickner, the founder of Jews for Jesus, was a speaker. He told congregants that terrorist attacks on Israel were God's "judgment" of Jews who haven't embraced Christianity. Brickner said, "Judgment is very real and we see it played out on the pages of the newspapers and on the television. When a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment -- you can't miss it."
OK, so Sarah's church brought this guy in as a guest speaker. The guy who founded Jews for Jesus, who proceeded to state, with Sarah in attendance, that terrorist attacks on Israel are God's judgment on Jews for not embracing Jesus! The death of Jews in Israel is Judgement!
Seriously? God is knocking Jews off as judgement? Those darn Jews! They had beeter start believing, or God's going to take a few more of them out.
The next statement in the piece was:
The McCain campaign says Brickner's comments do not reflect her religious views. Palin's spokeswoman says she is pro-Israel.
Oh, phew. Thank goodness. If McCain's campaign says that she doesn't agree with the beliefs of this guy who her church brought in to speak before her and the congregation, then I guess we can all rest assured that Palin doesn't harbor any beliefs like that!
This stuff makes me scared. Yes, I know that alot of people in this country believe this kind of stuff. But those that don't should be scared. Jewish voters should be scared.
