Well it's primary day here in Minnesota. As is normal on primary day, the volunteers outnumbered the voters. It would have been nice if the volunteers had signed up for jobs they could actually do, but who's complaining? Oh, me. Here's what happened:
I get there, give my name, and the volunteer starts looking in the A's. My name starts with I. I point this out. She hears it as "Aye" and keeps looking in the A's. Eventually she hears "I." She gets about as far as the H's and starts looking there. She gets really excited when she hits "Hi..." and points out that she found an I. I remind her that my name starts with I, not H. She pages ahead to the J's. Finally we get to the I's and I get my ballot. I now discover that I went through all this just to vote for Al Franken, who's probably going to win anyway.
Well, at least it's practice for November.
