When years from now people will ask me "where I was," I'll have to say I had to call in sick because... well, that's TMI. Anyways, the good news is that I spent the day watching C-SPAN. Below is a random list of my favorite moments.
- Aretha Franklin's hat. Who else could wear a huge bow with rhinestones and not look like a total fool?
- Joe Biden's oath officially ending the reign of Darth Cheney
- The removal of the -elect behind President Obama's title
- The benediction. Rick Who?
- The helicopter with the Bushes taking off and the Obamas and Bidens waving good-bye (or good riddance). The bad news: W was flying towards my home state. The good news: he can't bomb Iran from there.
- "Na na na na na na na na hey hey hey good-bye"
- We-are-family moments between the Obamas/Robinsons and the Bidens. Uncle Joe helping Malia with her photography. Uncle Craig balancing two Biden grandkids on his lap.
- Joe Biden waving at the crowd and totally lapping it up
- The Lesbian and Gay Band Association marching in the parade, followed by the Southern belles group (forgot what they were called), and the two groups look as though they belong together
What were yours?
