I am an Irishman and proud of my heritage. I love my country (Ireland) deeply. This is not unusual, you Americans love your country as do the Israelis,Brits,french or what ever love their countries.
This may bore some of you but for the first time in a long time I felt a deep disgust in my countrymen.
Two British servicemen and a day later a member of the PSNI were murdered by Irish terrorists.
The question is Why and for what.
The 800 years of kicking the shit out of each other finished a few years ago. Relations between The Republic of Ireland and The United kingdom have never been better.
The Northern Ireland peace process proved that people can find a way to live with each other despite the hate-traditions political and religious bigotry.
Yes the present power sharing government have difficulties and it's not all sunshine and roses but that's politics.Browse this from the BBC
Martin McGuinness was a leading member of the Provisional IRA and he pulled no punches with regards to the murder of the members of the British security services. He saw these terrible events as they should be seen....cold blooded murder and terrorism.
On a personal note:
I never supported terrorism in any form, it was however very touching and encouraging to see an "ex-terrorist" like McGuinness
show his utter contempt for these murders.
Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London, were shot at Massereene Army base, Antrim. The soldiers were killed as they accepted a pizza delivery at about 2120 GMT on Saturday.
Please share my disgust at the murders of these two young men and the police officer Stephen Paul Carroll 48.
