I'm back again this morning, and there have been a few updates since I left you last night. First, the new evacuations
Update [2009-3-27 7:53:31 by guyermo]:
NEW EVACUATION IN MOORHEAD
Based on the latest crest prediction of 42 feet for the Red River, Moorhead police want residents living north of Interstate 94, south of Main Avenue and west of Eighth Street South.
Storm sewers, such as those found on Rivershore Drive, are starting to back up with water.
In Fargo:
East of 4th street due to significant leakage and an eroding dike. Good news: The Corps of Engineers believe they can repair it.
The mandatory evacuation was issued at 2:09 this morning for residents living east of Fourth Street South between South River Road and Lindenwood Drive, an area southeast of the city’s water plant.
More Below.
First, since this is a liveblog (at least for me until i have to leave for work) the following rules apply:
NO PICTURES! It slows down the bandwidth for everyone.
Rec the mothership rather than this diary. It's already at the top of the list.
The flood officially became the worst in Fargo's history at 2:15 this morning and at 5:30 read 40.32 feet.
The evacuation in Moorhead of areas South of I-94 and West of 8th street is still in effect.
Also, the following streets in Fargo are closed to the general public to assist with flood fighting efforts:
University Drive between 35th and 40th avenues south
10th Street between 13th Avenue South and 19th Avenue North
NP Ave. from University Drive to the Red River
7th Avenue North from University Drive to the Red River
19th Avenue North between University Drive to Elm Street

Concordia College in Moorhead is closed.
Update [2009-3-27 9:23:22 by guyermo]:
Here's a map I created that shows the evacuations so far. I've updated the map to show the location of Sandbag Central at the Fargodome as well as the roads closed to the public in Fargo to aid flood fighting efforts.

Final update from me today. I have to get to work. If anything happens, such as a breach or evacuation, if someone could please throw up a new diary, it would be much appreciated.
But for now, things appear to be holding steady. Fingers crossed it remains so!
