Nesting green herons, baby green herons and green heron eggs ... today is a good day:

Someone actually asked me once why I love animals so much. I am thoroughly devoted to the animals, the plants, ecosystems, All-Life, Nature and God.
It seems such a pitiable thing to hear so many people irrationally afraid of Nature or irrationally devoted to capitalism to the point of destroying every living thing on the planet.
It seems such a pitiable thing to hear so many people irrationally afraid of Nature or irrationally devoted to capitalism to the point of destroying every living thing on the planet.
Look at these green herons. Look at the reddish herons. Look at the dolphins. Look at the flowers. Look at the bees. Look at the blue sky. Look at the clouds. Look at the sun shining brightly after 4.5 billion years of reliably providing heat and light and energy to the Earth.
Nature is everything. Humans aren't more important than the plants and the animals. The plants and animals and the Earth and the Sun do not exist for humankind's sake.
When I am outside immersed within Nature I love everything I see and live at peace with all things. Any other lifestyle would involve unhappiness, stress, perpetual conflict and violence (as many people have proudly told me about either their killing of animals or their dreams of killing animals).
The violence which humans commit against Nature is consistent with the violence humans commit against each other. Those who love peace live peacefully and there isn't any desire to harm or profit from the harming of anything or anyone.
Nature has demonstrated for four billion years that it is just fine without the Homo sapiens. Should humans continue to live in a foolish, violent, destructive and self-destructive manner our species will go extinct and Nature will demonstrate again that it is just fine without the Homo sapiens.
If survival is at all important to humankind I suggest that our species live differently. If it is impossible for humankind to live differently Nature will impose a different lifestyle upon us and Nature will drive humans extinct with casual indifference.
Nature owes no obligations to humankind. Nature has a long history of allowing primate species to go extinct. Extinction happens. Extinction is forever.
