It was just announced here at Netroots Nation 2009 in Pittsburgh and registration is live on the Netroots Nation website (with price and raffle incentives for early registration): We're going back to Las Vegas!
And read Kos's intro to longtime Kossack Darcy Burner wrapping up NN09:
"We were teenagers, now we're the man" - Markos Moulitsas Zuniga (kos), at Netroots Nation 2009 in Pittsburgh, looking back on the first YearlyKos in Las Vegas.
UPDATE: Now with Pole!
I think there was less liveblogging from NN this year because there was more going on onsite. Compelling conversations in the exhibits, book-signings, movies, and oh yeah, the sessions. Look for more reports as people recover and get time to digest the onsite connections.
"I'm too lazy to be a leader" Kos admits, reminiscing about the first YearlyKos, in the final session Saturday evening. He boasts that he almost got out of doing anything this year. But he is onstage right now, introducing long-time Kossack and activist Darcy Burner, who was born in Alaska, and was a Civil Air Patrol winner at age 18, showing leadership skills. "She's one of us... a nerd.... a geek!"
re her going to Microsoft "That was a step back... She should have gone to Cupertino" got some applause.
She came within 2.9% of ousting an incumbent.
So what are your plans? How will you spend the year getting ready? How will you be in a different place when you rejoin the community in person in Las Vegas?
My wife Betsy and I have already registered at the earlybird rate, and plan to exhibit again, as we've done for the last four years (this year partnering with The Metaphor Project to help people "speak American" in addition to our Democracy Begins At Home) focus on community organizing), starting back in Las Vegas at the first YearlyKos, and then again in Chicago and Austin. Who's with me? Use the comments to check in here with your plans.
