An American Expat's view living in the EU compiled from EU news sources not available in the U.S.
The power elite heavy hitters in the U.K. include David Cameron leader of the British Conservative Party have taken their gloves off in a slugfest royale with the GOP claims calling the British National Health Service as "evil, Orwellian and full of death panels" as reported by British ITN news. In the video below David Cameron who is the leader of the British Conservative Party bashes a British conservative Daniel Hannan for his support of the GOP in attacking the British health care system. Cameron pledged that under a conservative government the British National Health Service would get even more money calling it a cherished British institution.
Please note: As the commercial for-profit US media measurably absolutely refuses to report on this issue, therein creating a de facto virtual information blackout, the only way that the American people have of finding out about this issue is if persons like yourselves support efforts like this diary by recommending and commenting on it. We therefore ask your help in getting the word out, please consider supporting this diary and efforts like it, thanks.
The video below makes the point that in domestic politics constructive criticism of the British National Health Service is allowed. While massive bashing and distortions by foreigners are not welcome. The video presents Daniel Hannan - British Conservative member of the European Parliament marginalized in British politics for his role in supporting the Fox news GOP campaign to bash the British National Health Service. Supporting the GOP propaganda against the British National Health Service is despised in the circles of the British power elite from all parties.
A note to our readers: Why is it that in the above Fox news video they have Daniel Hannan appearing to speak for British conservatives in support of the GOP NHS bashing campaign instead of David Cameron? Could it be that the British Conservative Party leader David Cameron doesn't support the GOP NHS bashing campaign, and that this Fox news report appears to be fairly unbalanced!
Academic elite Professor Stephen Hawking speaks up in defense of the British National Health Service
In support of the GOP campaign the conservative Investor's Business Daily had to publish an embarrassing retraction as noted by the British Daily Mail newspaper in the quote below, which makes riveting reading, wherein the British academic elite, award winning physicist Stephen Hawking speaks out vociferously in defense of the British National Health Service which he credits for saving his life.
And the Investor's Business Daily said in an editorial: 'People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the UK, where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.'
They had to correct the piece when it was pointed out that the physicist was born, lives and works in the UK.
Mr Hawking said: 'I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS.'

The new Twitter campaign started by ordinary Britons in support of the NHS which is the British National Health Service can be seen at the link below:

It should be said that there have been numerous reports that this site was so overwhelmed with supporters that it actually crashed for a while, though it is back up and running now. As such this diary invites you to visit it and get a brief vignette of ordinary Britons who have added the I love my NHS logo to their profiles, where reportedly many American progressives in sympathy are adding the same logo to their Twitter profiles, as a show of support for our British cousins. Should you add I love my NHS logo to your profile? While this diary takes no position on that issue, the I love my NHS campaign seems to rapidly becoming a worldwide phenomenon, which is presently being under-reported by the commercial media in the US whose corporate masters want to underplay de facto British support for a govt option health care reform measures proposed by the Obama administration.
"I love my public health care option" Twitter campaign logo proposal
If you're a Twitter user how do you feel about supporting a Twitter campaign that features a "I love my public option" logo modeled on the "I love my NHS" logo, which people are now free to add to their Twitter profiles, wherein all Americans who support the public option as well as international Twitter users who support America adopting a public option in health care reform would be encouraged to add such a logo to their Twitter profile.
The world is with us in support of a public option in health care reform as virtually every other major industrialized country in the world has some type of universal medical access system in place:
That's why this diary and efforts like it deserve your support to get the word out that the world supports America's public option health care reform initiatives. This is a clear statement that the world is with us fellow progressives. Now is not the time to let the for-profit commercial US media tell us when to quit. We're closer to victory now than ever. History is with us, the world is with us, that includes our friendly neighbor to the north Canada's Conservative Party. To that end I'll leave you with the quote below. Please let's remember it's time to get energized and redouble our efforts to support the Obama administration's health care reform measures, to include the public option.
A belief that all Canadians should have reasonable access to quality health care regardless of their ability to pay;

Please note: This diary should not in any way be read as an endorsement by this writer of the British Conservative Party or any conservative party in Canada or elsewhere. This diary merely takes stock of the fact that conservative political parties in Britain, Canada and elsewhere do not support the GOP's health care reform platform, or bashing of the British NHS system or bashing of the Canadian Medicare system.
