For decades Ted Kennedy has fought a long protracted battle for health care reform in the United States. And now that he has died, people are angry that the work was not finished before he left this earth. Remember your history!!!
In October of 1902, Elizabeth Cady Stanton died at the age of 86. Ms. Stanton work her whole entire adult life for the right to vote, while raising a house full of children.
In March of 1906, Susan B. Anthony died at the age of 86. Along with Ms. Stanton, Ms. Anthony traveled the United States her entire adult life fighting for the right to vote.
In 1920...women were afforded the right to vote in the United States.
In April of 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down in Memphis at the young age of 39. His life's work was to afford equal rights for everyone in the United States.
In November of 2008, Barack Obama was elected the President of the United States.
These are just two bright and shining examples of singular people working their entire lives for reform in the United States. We view these people as essential to the process...but that's just not the case....the people behind the faces of reform are what moves the process forward....it's the workers, the foot soldiers. And those people are right here....so let's get going!!!!
