There is an ugly cancer in the American body, and it’s metastasizing. It’s the cancer of White hate towards African Americans, and it’s gone from being hidden deep in the recesses of the country to busting forth into full view.
The racism against Obama has been well covered, so I’ll focus on the racism in general that is growing. Take, for example, the public outrage at Serena Williams for her spirited contesting of an inappropriate and clearly wrong call by a line judge at the U.S. Open. Many are calling this TNB, or "Typical N*gger Behavior", and one column even wrote that "you can take the girl out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the girl."
Or take the case of Kanye West commenting on Taylor Swift's - let’s be generous - "controversial" win over Beyonce for Best Video at the MTV Awards (who even knew there was still an MTV, and that it still gave awards?)
The hate and racism spewed against Kayne in the press was astounding, and the picture of the "threatening Black man attacking a pure White woman" that is running on Drudge and countless other press sites is nothing less than lynch-mob baiting – 2009 style.
Every day, we hear and feel the crazy growing in White America. Now we see it spewed against an athlete that may have just been suffering from ‘roid rage or, more likely, healthy competitiveness, and a spirited rap artist who simply righteously defended a Sister against a clearly fixed award win.
I pray every day that the deep racism of America be healed and this insane racism against African Americans come to an end.
