From a speech by Samuel Wurzelbacher at the annual meeting of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters:
"I'll be honest with you. I don't think plumbers should be anywhere near a toilet. I mean, you guys work on the nation's water supply. You provide Americans with clean water. You make a big deal out of it. I-I think it's asinine. You know, I liked back in the 1840s, when water was water and waste was waste. Now everyone's got an opinion and wants to plumb good water and bad water. You know, toilets and the water supply. I think plumbers should be abolished from, uh, you know, plumbing. You know, plumbing is hell, and hard on the knees, too. And if you're gonna sit there and say, 'Well look at this shit,' well you don't know the whole story behind it half the time, so I think plumbers should have no business in it."
"I also think country singers have no business singing. Also politicians should ignore tax policy, and Marshall McLuhan understood me best."
A point of view can be a dangerous luxury when substituted for insight and understanding.
All media exist to invest our lives with artificial perceptions and arbitrary values.
Anyone who tries to make a distinction between education and entertainment doesn't know the first thing about either.
Diaper backward spells repaid. Think about it.
