A Demotix citizen-journalist has been caught up in police action against photographers in Iceland.
Jakob Fannar was pepper-sprayed outside Iceland's parliament building, but still managed to take some great photographs.
These photographs show both the power of citizen-journalism, but also the dangers and problems involved.
He said, "The police targeted the photographers and took them out one by one. Some photographers got arrested and got their memory cards wiped out."
Demotix CEO Turi Munthe said, "It is incredible and shocking that physical attacks on journalists can happen in a first-world country like Iceland. Governments should be protecting, not attacking, citizen journalists.
"Citizen journalists do not have access to the training and legal support enjoyed by their colleagues at major news organizations. Demotix calls on governments to protect these individuals, who are simply exercising their right to free expression."
