Actually I am a little bit more than bemused at what appears to be going on around here.
There I was innocently looking at my navel and deciding if a major de-fluffing was in order.
Apparently I have a serious fluff problem
Oh well it's Saturday time for some maintenance, so here goes.
Obama
I like him a lot.
I voted for him.
I knew what I was getting.
I think he is by far and away the best person for the job that we have at this time.
Is he perfect: Not by a long shot.
I think I will give him another few years before I judge.
However
Does this mean I will stop fighting for LGBT rights and the end of DADT and DOMA? The hell it doesn't.
Does this mean I will stop fighting for women's rights? The hell it doesn't.
Does this mean I will stop fighting for environmental responsibility? The hell it doesn't.
Does this mean I will stop fighting to get our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan? The hell it doesn't.
Does this mean I will stop fighting for universal health care? The hell it doesn't.
Does this mean I forgive the financial sector for robbery? The hell it doesn't.
And so on, you get the picture. Obama has ideas what needs to be done and can be done and I have mine.
Does this mean I don't support him? The hell it does.
So when I whinge and whine about a particular issue this does not me that I take this as a be all and end all to my support, it does however register my disappointment and sometimes my outright anger.
I feel this is the stance of many here on Kos.
Criticism of governement is healthy and is needed we spent 8 years where criticism was regarded as being Un-American. There is nothing more American than standing up for your beliefs, teabagging and just saying NO does not count.
SCOTUS
A sorry mess but this is out of our hands it needs justices to retire and for Obama to put forward progressive candidates.
Congress
This is where my problems lie:
I will not support them if I disagree with them.
Bipartisanship? You can kiss my ass. That brought out the follow up to Hyde piece of retroactive garbage in the form of the Stupak-Pitts amendment.
They want a fight? I say bring it on.
I refuse to support/donate to congress-critters that sell me down the river.
It really is that simple.
It should be that simple on Kos.
If you don't like them don't feed them.
If you live in their district/state and prefer them to the conservative trash so be it but don't expect me to like it or help.
Everyone here is free to make up their own mind, if you don't like it you can bite me.
That is why I believe:
Campaign Finance Reform is essential.
Term limits need to be imposed Update: Then again maybe not see comments.
That should make them just a little bit more accessible and open the field of potential candidates greatly.
Now back to my navel watch you never know when the fluff will strike.
From my diary yesterday H/T to it really is that important,
