Are we stalled or still slowly and laboriously moving forward? The way I read it the healthcare debate has sucked the wind out of everything else since July. What we may eventually get out of this fight is a weak bill that may act to kill real healthcare reform efforts for years to come creating antibodies like a vacine made up out of dead germs.
Moving so slowly on the economy, energy, Afghanistan, global warming, GITMO, government transparency, albeit we nay be headed in the right direction is giving the impression that a Democratic majority is incapable of really governing.
I still think Obama is a competent administrator, and his patient guidence may eventually bear some fruit, but time is running out.
Our economic policy still needs to focus on stopping foreclosures and providing jobs, regulating the markets and leveling the playing field for small business with affordable healthcare not making fortunes for bankers.
Global Warming needs us to take a leadership role now. It seems as if the Bush administration Regent U. stay behinds in every department of the government from Justice and Defense to Energy and Environmental Protection are undercutting Obama resisting change at every turn.
Afghanistan needs us to stop occupying its villages in support of a corrupt regime. Our presence only fuels the peoples desire for an end to everything we are trying to do there.
Why we are continuing to support a corrupt CIA backed Karzai regime composed of drug dealers and war criminals nobody actually living in Afghanistan wants at a cost of 10 billion a month we need to be spending at home escapes me.
Its time that our energy bills and credit card regulation and foreclosure policy, healthcare protection and creation of jobs began working to build some consumer confidence that income stability is going to turn around sooner rather than later.
Why is being supportive of a failed political brand important to forming a more perfect union. Republicans no longer have a niche to fill. Why not let them go the way of the Whigs and allow some new ideas to fill the void.
