Why can't we start our OWN Public Option--a non-profit,health insurance coop, for example. Or our OWN health savings accounts that don't charge the $5/month fee.

Is there anyone out there with real insurance business insight that could give some pros and cons. Is it really impossible? We're talking basic insurance here.

In the old days, Blue Cross Blue Shield was a not-for-profit corp. They were the defacto insurer for government employees. Now, they are for-profit.
What is considered "affordable" insurance? What kind of premium?
