Tweety gets my vote for MVMP (Most Valuable Media Person) today as he CATEGORICALLY SLAMMED Rep Darryl Issa (R-Cal) when he used the term "Democrat Party" during a discussion with Chris and Rep. Barney Frank today on Hardball.
more on this after the jump
I've been steamed by this deliberate Republican usage of "Democrat Party" to subliminally demean and ridicule the DemocraTIC Party.
Today, FINALLY, someone on air had the balls to publicly CALL OUT this usage, and call it for what it is - childish name-calling.
The best part of this was Rep. Frank's riposte, when he defended Rep. Issa, and other members of the "Republicanistical" party ;-)
It's about time that members of the media start swatting down these blatant attempts to demean members of the opposite party. It's also time that members of th emedia start to call out the CONTINUED Republican parroting of long-debunked ideas, like how taxing personal incomes of $250,000 and up will affect American small businesses, and slow job growth. This meme has been debunked over and over, and YET the Republicans STILL INSIST on repeating this LIE, to try to bolster their lame attempt at blockading President Obama's progressive agenda to fix America, which has been mightily broken by nearly 30 years of Republican "guvmint" (based on Grover Norquist's stated goal of drowning government in the bathtub).
It's about time - send Chris an email message, and congratulate him for not allowing the "subliminal slander" to occur on his watch.
UPDATE: rec list? thanks, Kossacks.
