All of this Love! Really, really beautiful! We Love You, Brother, and thanks for your message! Because, in your loss, we gained more courage to stop "them". And we will, for you! And we will not stop! (Yes, it is a war, to me!). And we will never disappoint you; even if we die trying!
(See kwickkick's diary; sorry, I don't know how to link it.)
Your name, kwickkick, alone, has inspired me, on a daily basis, I have to confess. You see, good friend, (never met, but I feel you are a kindred spirit), ever since I noticed your sig, last year, your name has become a mantra for me. Let me explain: I own two vintage motorcycles; one is a 1946 Indian Chief; the other, a 1947 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead. Now these old postwar scooters are kick-only bikes; that means no push-button to fire them up! I built them in my living room, with my own hands, at great sacrifice, over a period of twenty years. Kick starting means you have a ritual to keep them going. And...you need to be a good mechanic, paying attention, everyday. The whole process can be Zen-like, as in tranced. You need to kick the lever to get them primed, and you need to kick them to ignite the spark, and start the engine.
During the whole process, on the downstroke kicks; I think "kwickkick, kwickkick". You have good days, when they start on the second or third kick, and you have really bad days, where your right leg is just exhausted because you are going on twenty kicks, and nothing is happening....So, a kwickkick, becomes your hope, and your mantra, so you can get it done, and so you can get going down the road...soon, happily. So your trip, kwickkick, became my trip, daily!
What is the message that I'm trying to say, and that kwickkick so eloquently states in his last gift to us? Never, ever, ever, give up! And that kwickkick's inspiration stays with us forever! And when I start one of the bikes, I always think of kwickkick; and when I ride now, I will think of battles to be fought, and I will think of cancer, and a loved friend we have lost too soon; kwickkick! In this election cycle, America pretty much needed a kickstart, which ignited the spark, and now this machine is fresh and running! And so you will live on!
Much Love, SSK!
