Just a quick note. There's been a general recoil against "centrist" democrats who seem to be abandoning the Employee Free Choice Act, now that the battle is getting tough and the corporate lobbyists are ramping up the pressure.
But at least one Democrat who is often thought of as a centrist, and just months ago was practically considered a Republican, is firmly on-board. Joe Lieberman is one of the 40 Senate Democrats who signed his name as a sponsor of the Act, according to Daily Kos sister site Congress Matters.
More and more, it seems that Obama's decision to forgive and forget when it comes to Joe Lieberman was the right decision. I wonder if there will even be a serious progressive challenger to Joe in 2012, when he is up for reelection. If he continues to vote and act the way he's been voting and acting in the months since Obama embraced him, my guess is no.
